Book-keeper – Jill Davis
At a young age Jill Davis knew her heart would eventually find itself living in Colorado. Born in Trenton, Michigan and re-located to Kansas during her teenage years Jill began her love of the outdoors through fieldtrips, vacations, camping and rock climbing with friends. As a college student, Jill chose to study education as a mode to share the wonders of nature with others. After graduating from Kansas State University with an education degree, Jill was awarded an opportunity to study abroad and spent a semester traveling in Europe and working with the University of Amsterdam. Upon returning to the United States she was offered a position teaching middle school science in Littleton, Colorado. After 4 years on the Front Range Jill took the leap to change lifestyles and head for the mountains of Salida. After several part time jobs to make ends meet, Jill scored a position with the Buena Vista Public Schools where she currently teaches a variety of high school science courses and health. Jill actively volunteers for the Colorado Division of Wildlife teaching teachers to use the environment as a classroom. Playing in the outdoors continues to pull at Jill’s heartstrings and she can be found rafting the gems of the west, and traveling across the many nearby trails by bike or foot with her two dogs and husband, Articipate co-founder Bones.

Board of Directors
Chair – James Harrmeyer
My folks were both faithful federal goverment employees, so I moved around quite a bit going up. San Diego, Hawaii, northern Virginia just outside Washington DC, Belgium (Europe), back to Virgina, and back to California for college. All that moving instilled in my sisters and I a healthy appreciation for the small (and large) differences in people and culture that are probably responsible for the small (and large) differences in art and music that exist in different social and geographic areas.
I moved to Salida in 2003, with the woman who has since become my official better half, with the goal of “messing around” for a year before heading off to law school. Well, if you’ve been to Salida you know that it is difficult place to leave. Our one year plan went by the wayside, and almost three years later we managed to peel ourselves away and go back to school. Another three years later, after much studying, we returned to Salida and have no intention of leaving again. I joined up with a local attorney and have been busily practicing a wide variety of law.
I enjoy doing anything other than sitting at my desk. Mountain biking is my passion, but I also do a bit of all the other amazing outdoor activities that our valley has to offer from season to season.
I’m no kind of musician and doubt that I will ever bless my community with an artistic talent worthy of sharing. However, I am surrounded by friends and neighbors who do have amazing skills and talents in a wide variety of musical and artistic disciplines. It brings me great pleasure to work with Articipate to help those folks share thier gifts.

urer – Cory Scheffel
Cory was born and raised in Colorado. He spent his childhood on the front range with frequent forays to the family’s cabin near Florissant (which at that time had no phone, tv, or running water). It was in this magical, ponderosa filled world, that the love of the outdoors was planted deep within Cory. It was also a place of character building.
Some of Cory’s fondest memories are of cabin chores which included winter days working the ice-cold pump handle on the well so the toilet could be flushed, and gathering enough rocks to build his father’s equivalent of the great wall.
Cory’s high school years were spent at Arvada High. Upon graduation, he left the front range for Fort Lewis College in Durango. Through patience, perseverance, and a developing self-discipline, Cory was able to earn a B.A. in English and an elementary teacher’s licensure. College provided the perfect cover for Cory as he wrapped himself in the majestic San Juan mountains, skiing, rafting, climbing, and generally bumbling around.
The next chapter in Cory’s life found him pursuing his passion to teach and inspire children. He moved to Glenwood Springs where he taught at Glenwood Elementary. During his seven years in the Roaring Fork Valley, he earned his Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Adams State College. It also provided a great opportunity to explore yet another part of the state.
I-70 and a daily commute in Glenwood left Cory yearning for simpler life. He moved to Salida, where he has lived with his dogs Bailey and Oscar for past 4 years. Currently, Cory teaches 6th grade literacy at Salida Middle School and is a member of Chaffee County Mentors. He has been on the Articipate Board for a year and continues to bumble around in the mountains surrounding his home.
